You must ensure that all employees performing the CRO function receive annual refresher training concerning their duties and the provisions of this regulation. This webinar is updated annually to help CROs meet the annual training requirement in a convenient way, while still keeping up on the latest information. 2021 edition of Airport Magazine carried an article by Laurel Van Horn entitled, "Beyond the ADA: Creating an Equitable Experience for All."

Open Doors Organization (ODO) commends the Department of Transportation (DOT) for their final rule regarding service animals traveling by air. The CRO Initial Training includes both an in-depth analysis of 14 CFR Part 382 and a Disability Awareness Training Module, also required for all frontline staff under the Air Carrier Access Act regulations.

To meet strong demand and accommodate carriers worldwide, ODO is now offering virtual CRO classes. Contact Katy O'Reilly for more information. Learn more here!. We're excited to release our 4th nationwide study on the travel patterns and spending of American adults with disabilities.

Open Doors Organization (ODO), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Chicago, Illinois, was founded in 2000 for the purpose of creating a society in which all persons with disabilities have the same consumer opportunities as everyone else.
We aspire to teach businesses how to succeed in the disability market, while simultaneously empowering the disability community.
In America today, marketing toward people with disabilities is hindered by myths and misconceptions.
Through comprehensive research, training, and guidance in marketing strategies, ADA compliance and customer service, ODO gives large corporations and small business alike the tools they need to reach and serve the disability market.
Over the past 15 years Open Doors Organization has developed a nationwide network of associates and supporters who help us realize large-scale projects and keep us abreast of local and regional developments of importance to the wider disability community.
These individuals, who represent many types of disabilities and areas of expertise, work with us on a regular basis as advisers and consultants.
In addition to its Board of Directors, ODO has an active Advisory Board drawn from a wide variety of corporations, non-profits and educational institutions.
Laurel Van Horn has specialized in accessible travel and hospitality since 1987, working as a writer, educator and access consultant.
Since joining Open Doors Organization in 2004, she has taken the lead on major projects such as the award-winning ODO Easy Access Guides and Airline Complaint Resolution Official CRO and Amtrak training programs.
She is also ODO's "go-to person" on regulatory issues and edits their website, newsletter and other publications.
Formerly the executive director of SATH (Society for Accessible Travel & Hospitality), Laurel also edited their magazine, Open World for Disability and Mature Travel.
The Open Doors Organization envisions a society in which all persons with a disability have the same opportunities as everyone else.
Your gift ensures increased opportunities for these individuals and older adults.
With your ongoing support, our programs will continue to make significant contributions to the disability community.
The Open Doors Organization is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and your donation is fully tax-deductible.
In addition to disability-related symposia for air carriers and service companies providing assistance in airports, Open Doors Organization hosts a biennial Universal Access in Airports (UAIA) conference.
First held in 2006, UAIA brings together all interested parties from aviation and the disability community to share best practices and new technological solutions.
Past events have been held in Baltimore, Chicago, Houston, Seattle and Minneapolis.
