The Open Door of Delta offers assistance to the community in many different ways. When a family loses their belongings in a fire or a parent and children flee a domestic violence situation with only the clothing on their backs, we can help with clothing, household goods, cleaning supplies, personal care/bath supplies. Individuals in need of help with clothing for school or a job interview and don't have the means to buy them, we can assist them from our store.

Not sure where to go for help? We are here to assist you with information about other programs that are available in the area. The board of The Open Door of Delta, Inc, looks at the community and the people we serve. The growth to our organization's facilities was a response to address community needs. In 2010 an addition was added, to house a shelter (The Transition Center) 2016 a retail building on Main Street was purchased to increase the space of our Thrift Store.

Through both of these additions to our original facility, we have flourished allowing us to offer more services and bring needed programs to the community.
Services
What happens when you don't have an answer to someone's call for help?
That desire to help turns into a vision.
That is how The Open Door of Delta, Inc. was founded.
The concept was to bring together services for the community, and house them under one roof.
This would allow community members easier access to assistance programs.
Funding this dream would be a Thrift Store, that would also give our community an affordable place to shop.
The seed was planted and the next step was to find a building to serve these needs.
Our store offers quality second hand items at great prices.
Whether you shop our store daily, weekly or just once in a while you will find items you love.
The Open Door Thrift Store is located at 313 Main Street, Delta, Ohio.
Donations are sorted, priced and organized in our store by our friendly volunteers.
The store is open Monday through Saturday, with entrances on Main Street and Palmwood Ave.
We carry everything from clothing, shoes and toys to furniture and household goods.
The furniture store located at 319 Main street is also owned and operated by The Open Door.
The Open Door of Delta operates a 12 bed transitional housing center.
This center allows residents a safe place to live, at no cost, while they work on goals to help them become independent.
Our program is a "works" program.
This means that each resident must obtain and retain employment as part of their residence agreement.
We help the residents budget and save money so that they may reach the ultimate goal of independent living.
While living in our center, the residents must adhere to a set of rules.
The Open Door of Delta offers assistance to the community in many different ways.
When a family loses their belongings in a fire or a parent and children flee a domestic violence situation with only the clothing on their backs, we can help with clothing, household goods, cleaning supplies, personal care/bath supplies and food.
Individuals in need of help with clothing for school or a job interview and don't have the means to buy them, we can assist them from our store.
If items are not available in our store, we provide assistance through gift cards to go purchase necessary items.
We often get a call or see someone asking for children and adult books.
These books can be for birdhouse libraries that are popping up in smaller communities, sent to area where school libraries were lost or even to a dialysis center for people to read while receiving treatment.
We support these efforts by donating books of all kinds for these efforts.
A book in the hand of a child is priceless.
So many circumstances arise when individuals and families find themselves needed clothing.
It can be for a new job, school starting or just fallen on hard times.
