Herb & Ervin Kolbe begin repairing window frames and building sash out of their mother's wash house on the family dairy farm near Marathon, WI - Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork was born. Production soon expands to aluminum clad windows and sales spread within the United States and Canada. A Kolbe facility is established in Manawa, WI, to manufacture vinyl windows and doors with the same attention to detail for which Kolbe products are known.
After the passing of Ervin and Herb, Judy Gorski, Herb's daugther, assumes the role of Chief Executive Officer.
