Shoji Hawaii
In traditional Japanese architecture, A shji () is a door, window or room divider consisting of translucent paper over a frame of wood which holds together a lattice of wood or bamboo. While 'washi' is the traditional paper used, today, laminated materials and other more modern materials are used in today's shji. We specialize in building sliding shoji doors or screens to create separate partitions in a single space.

Here are some shoji door and screen designs we have made and others we can create for you. Our shoji screens, doors and panels are proudly custom made on the beautiful Island of Oahu in Hawaii. Shoji Hawaii directly serves the greater Honolulu and all islands in Hawaii. So, NO SHIPPING COSTS if you live on Oahu! Shoji Hawaii has created a lovely collection of traditional and custom shoji screens, doors and room dividers.

Our screens and doors are hand-built using the finest woods and papers available. Our shoji screens can be made to slide, fold, be used as closet doors, wardrobe doors, pocket doors or as a regular door.
Services
We specialize in building sliding shoji doors or screens to create separate partitions in a single space.
The doors slide in a top, bottom and side enclosure.
Each door moves either on a bottom track or hangs on a top rail, based on your preference.
The top track can be ceiling mounted, or can be suspended from an self supporting open header (transom) that allows ventilation above the screens.
We are the only manufacturer based in Oahu in Hawaii.
A single shoji door can be hung from a rail and slide in/out of the pocket.
We perform repairs on shoji screens if possible and feasible.
Most repairs involve replacing the broken "rice paper".
Note that we use a strong modern laminated material that requires to replace the old paper in the whole screen, not just a single square in the panel.
Also, most older plastics/papers have discolored over time.
They have become yellow and brittle.
If the material in one screen needs to be replaced, it typically cannot be color matched with the other panels.
In other words, to make all screens look uniform, you may have to replace the material in the other screens in addition.
