Services
Colonial Window Grilles are the ever-popular style of wood window grilles that separates your plain window into equally divided panes that enhance the appeal of your home.
See diagram below.
Queen Anne Wood Window Grilles, also known as Victorian, Craftsman, or Prairie Style Grilles, were made popular by the well-known designer and architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
Although they may not look "right" with every home style, if they do, they can add a dramatic effect to the overall look of your home.
Insert Grids are frameless window grilles that consist of just the cross pieces without the frames.
Poplar - Poplar is the favorite choice if you are going to paint your grilles.
It is the smoothest wood and it does not have a grain pattern that is hard to fill when you paint.
It is harder than pine and less likely to get dings and dents.
When poplar is stained it tends to blotch, less so if you seal the wood first with a conditioner.
Poplar will not hold up as well if the grilles are to be used outside.
Oak - Oak is the wood of choice if you are going to stain and varnish your grilles.
Oak is the hardest wood and stains very nicely.
Hi Frank, Sorry for getting back a little later; I have been traveling for business and just returned.
I really appreciate your view on life.
To be honest, we think very much alike.
It is a pity that people nowadays are only focused on profit and greed.
We live our lives according to the 'one hand washes the other' principle and that still seems to work.
The grilles are perfect.
I have installed them last night and it is a pleasure to see how good they look and how perfectly they fit.
You can be proud of your work; it's really awesome!
Check our wholesale prices for decorative window grilles, replacement window grids, and french door grids.
Our price for full surround decorative grills and french door grids is $9.00 per lite in poplar or pine and $10.00 per lite in oak.
