Well Dressed Windows
We have coordinated an operable roman shade for the arch window above the kitchen sink with stationary. This master bath features a Bordeaux style valance that is mounted on a fabric covered board. The main fabric. Designing window treatments for arch top windows can be challenging for some, but not for Well Dressed. The design of these valances was a collaboration of the client, the interior designer, and Well Dressed.

Well Dressed Windows has been providing the best in fabric window treatments, blinds, shades, shutters, and custom bedding since 1995. You can trust us with the look you really want! Call today for a free consultation and let us transform your house into a home. Our draperies and valances are lined with high quality 100% cotton lining in a cream color that doesn't look like a white sheet from outside.

And then we used tiny cording or piping called micro cording to finish the edges of valances and many other items to give them dressmaker detailing. Every time I walk down my stairs, I smile!

When Eileen Zimmerman was just twelve years old, her love for fabrics and sewing began with her first sewing project in Home Economics.
She received her degree in Fashion Merchandising from Kent State University.
She later went on to work in the family business, Paint & Pattern Centers, for more than twenty years in many different positions.
When mini and vertical blinds became fashionable, Eileen became an expert in that field.
Think of "swags" as "swoops" of fabric going across the top of the window.
They are folded or gathered in a semi circular shape and are mounted on a rod or a fabric covered board.
Typically there are cascades (also called jabots) at the sides.
The cascades can be pleated or gathered and are angle cut on the lower edge.
Often the lining of the cascades is a contrast fabric.
Cornices are built with a wood frame on the top, sides, and front.
They are padded with a Dacron wrap and covered with fabric pulled taut and stretched to the back.
A semicircular window that is usually placed above a rectangular window.
The arch can be presented in many different forms: It can have straight sides, be a quarter of a circle, or it can be elongated or eyebrow shaped.
Sometimes there are rectangular windows on either side that do not have arches above them.
They are also called Palladian windows, half moons, or half rounds.
These windows can be challenging, although they are one of Well Dressed Windows' specialties.
Oftentimes we hang decorative medallions that follow the shape of the arch and "droop" the panels at the top between the medallions to form a casual, but sophisticated look.
The right window treatment can wake up a room or hide a window's flaws, or both.
We can make a narrow window appear wider, or a short window appear taller.
A window treatment should be designed to compliment and enhance the decor of a room, to bring it to life.
We consider not only the room but the beauty of the window itself and the view beyond.
Every project is custom designed for your home and your decor.
There are no "cookie-cutter" designs with Well Dressed Windows.
