Open Door Nursery School
Open Door Nursery School is a not-for-profit school established in 1973 by Wyoming Presbyterian Church. For more than forty-five years, it has provided a positive, enriching experience for many young children in our community. Through our play-based curriculum and child-centered activities, we create a positive learning experience for all children.

Open Door seeks to provide an atmosphere that is responsive to the development of the whole child and is committed to his/her physical, intellectual, social and emotional well-being. The school strives to foster cognitive growth and curiosity, nurture social confidence, and help children strengthen their emotional independence and personal skills through interaction with their friends and teachers.
Services
Open Door has a play-based curriculum which fosters the emotional, social, physical and intellectual development of our students.
Our goal is to encourage each child to be self confident, independent and critical thinkers.
Each class has a daily schedule.
The day includes free-play and table top activities, outdoor/indoor physical activities, snack time, weekly themed art projects, story/library time, and music.
Our class curriculums include some of the following examples.
The two year-old class follows themes such as forest creatures, sea life, seasonal themes, and incorporates many hands-on cooking activities.
This is an extended day option for our three and four year-old children where they learn to eat independently, socialize, and play together.
There are three 30 minute periods where they play outside, eat lunch, and play inside doing games, puzzles, crafts, stories and more!
Each Lunch Bunch class is led by 1-2 teachers.
If your child is enrolled in a morning class, they stay until 1:00 PM.
Parents must provide lunch, hot or cold, which is kept in their lunch tote until it is time to eat.
Lunch Bunch is available as many days as your child attends school.
There are many parental involvement opportunities at Open Door.
A parent may wish to share a story or talent with their child's class, celebrate their child's birthday during snack time or participate in helping out on the Open Door Parent Committee (ODPC).
We encourage parents to volunteer their time and expertise to help with fundraising events, as class parents, and other social school functions.
What sets Open Door apart is the experienced early childhood teaching staff, the heart of the school.
The majority of the teachers have been with us for over 15 years, which means they truly love being here.
The classes are staffed with a lead teacher and an assistant teacher.
The director and head teacher assure that the educational program meets the expectations of our families and meets all state requirements.
Our professional staff meets all requirements for the Department of Children and Families Office of Licensing for the State of New Jersey.
Open Door is a not-for-profit nursery school and its tuition policy reflects the desire to keep tuition as low as possible while providing excellent education.
Funds raised by the Open Door Parent Committee (ODPC) provide all the extras such as enrichment, teacher development, playground and classroom updates, and investment into appropriate technologies either to facilitate education within the classroom or communication within our Open Door preschool community.
The committee's biggest fundraiser is the No Frills Fundraiser.
