Shades Of Tiffany
Shades of Tiffany has long been recognized in San Francisco, the Bay Area and world-wide for its beautiful lamps and colorful windows hand-crafted in the spirit of Louis Comfort Tiffany. Independently owned by local artist Lorena Calcagni, an early pioneer of stained-glass since the 1970s, and working with her longtime associates of master stained glass artisans, Lorena offers a variety of designs including Tiffany replicas and contemporary styles.

The emphasis is on quality and affordability.

In this newsletter we feature a rich-red hanging shade with a large floral motif inspired by another price record-breaking Tiffany lamp - the exotic Lotus Table lamp.
In honoring the 50th anniversary of The Summer of Love we created two stylized flower table lamps: Brother Peace and Sister Love designed in the spirit of the 60s Flower Power movement.

On a personal note: I moved to San Francisco from Rome, Italy in 1971.
After living among the fashion-conscious Italians for two years.
I was in for a visual shock.
The summer of love was truly over.
The Haight neighborhood was left a mess; the energy unruly, the kids disheveled.
As Summer turns into Autumn, September is upon us and that means one big thing to a kid - going back to school.
No more free, fun times - days will be occupied with attending school, almost like having a real job.
There will be new friends to make, holiday social activities, lots of school projects and homework with an eye on moving on up and out into a successful future.
To us older kids we may feel a touch of nostalgia; memories of our old school days past.
But going to school today is profoundly different from the past, even compared to my day.
Our June newsletter celebrates Louis Comfort Tiffany's father, Charles Lewis Tiffany, founder of Tiffany & Company jewelers.
Mr. Tiffany put the family name on the world map making it synonymous with American luxury items.
