The rough opening is typically around 2 inches wider and 2.5 inches taller than the actual door.
This gives room for the door to be framed in order to fit the space.
Transom or transom window is also the customary U.S. word used for a transom light, the window over the door.
TDL stands for True Divided Light.
These doors have separate panes of glass that are separated by mutines or grilles.
SDL (or LT) stands for Single Pane Divided Light.

If there are dents, chips, or dings in the door, you may need to patch the area with automotive bondo.
This type of repair should be performed by an individual who has experience working with bondo.
