Some rotting wood windows just do not need a full restoration.
Our Economy series covers the basics.
The rotting nosing, mull and brickmoulding will be removed as well as any other rotting wood affected areas and replaced with number one grade Poplar or with our rot free materials known as PVC.
We then apply a Terpolymer sealant to all seams and joints.
In some cases to guarantee that our work is fully protected from any future wood window rot, we apply the paint of your choosing to the new windows exterior at no additional charge.

When trying to understand the compenents of a wood window, whether it be made by Caradco, Crestline, Lincoln, Marvin, Pella, Vetter, Windsor, the components all remain the same.
Lets start of with a basic wood window sash as pictured above.
On a wood window sash, the wood material that surrounds and touches the glass are called stiles and rails.
The stile is the vertical piece of the sash and the rail is the top and bottom pieces of a sash.
Bottom rail and side stiles usually suffer from wood rot due to vertical seams not being sealed and or painted as well as unpainted bottom of sash.
