Great River Door was created in 2004 to provide truly unique & custom designed doors for their homes & getaway places all across the U.S. & Canada. Formed by Brent Manley (over 20 years of design & carving) & Mark Erickson (over 30 years in door building & mill work), who combine their talents, along with many other craftsmen & artists, to offer some of the most uniquely designed & well constructed doors available on the market.

We believe that, in both design & production, our time proven methods still stand the test of time & allow for more flexibility to create & build the door of your dreams. At the heart of every Great River door is true mortise & tenon joinery, simply the strongest & most lasting way to join 2 pieces of wood together & assuring a door that will withstand decades of use.
Each door unit is designed & engineered with the highest quality woods & components, milled & assembled by craftsmen with decades of experience.
Heavy duty ball bearing hinges, durable nylon weatherstrip & an aluminum sill with adjustable threshold are used to assure a secure & weather tight closure.

Having a quality finish on your door unit is critical to keeping it looking good for years, even decades, to come.
Great River Door provides our door units as fully finished or, if you prefer, we can provide them unfinished.
Because of the unique nature of our carved doors, we have developed some techniques for finishing that compliment our doors as well as provide superior protection.
If you choose to finish yourself, or by a professional painter, we will provide recommendations & assistance as best that we can.

Great River Door designs & builds some really "cool" doors, however, we don't install them.

We will work with you, or your builder, during the design process, to assure that your door unit is sized correctly & will provide for a trouble free installation.
Most of the door units that we produce include a high quality, 3 coat, Sikkens finish system.
