Services
SIGNA SYSTEM is a product and service which has been successfully marketed in Europe since 1976 and in the USA since 1980.
The product SIGNA RIG or (SIGNA Retrofit Insulated Glass) is also known as Scandinavian Insulated Glass of North America, from this the name SIGNA was derived.
This technology and the components for the system were first developed and patented in Scandinavia by Ryszard Borys, a Polish architect, between the years of 1974 and 1976, in cooperation with an engineer named Leslaw Becker, and the Danish and Norwegian Institutes of Technology.
Signa System is an insulating glass unit created out of existing single glazed window by adding and sealing hermetically an additional layer of glass by means of a special, patented air spacers and corners.
The spacers contain a moisture absorbing desiccant, which will keep your insulated glass free of moisture and condensation.
The dead air space between the two layers of glass will keep you warm in winter, and insulate from heat in the summer.
This process has been developed in Denmark by the founder and president of Signa System Inc., Ryszard Borys, and has been in commercial use since 1976.
Use of, or conversion to, double insulating glass can save 40-75% of energy lost through the glass area.
Furthermore, triple insulating glass can save as much as 50-90%.
The insulating glass will also eliminate condensation or frost on the glass in cold weather.
The savings depend on the materials utilized in the installation process.
The installation is usually accomplished from the inside with minimum inconvenience to the location and its tenants.
The SIGNA SYSTEM provides service for office buildings, apartments, condominiums, and single family homes; as well as commercial, industrial, and institutional construction.
Noise pollution is a serious issue, particularly when living in an area with high levels of air traffic or busy roads.
Too much noise can be damaging to health (increased stress, disrupted sleep).
It can hinder academic learning and concentration.
Acoustically insulating glass cuts out excess sound and the harmful effects of noise and is particularly effective in buildings near to high streets, urban traffic, motorways, train stations and airports.
The acoustic glass within a double-glazed unit comprises a special interlayer which acts as a dampening core to prevent sound frequencies from vibrating from one pane of glass to the other.
Signa System Inc. warrants to retrofit customer, that its retrofit installed window units will not, for a period of 10 years from the date of installation, develop any material obstruction of vision due to fogging, film buildup or condensation between the interior glass surfaces of the retrofitted unit caused by failure of the hermetic seal as a result of faulty materials, workmanship or installation.
This warranty shall not apply to glass breakage, improper handling of the unit or maintenance of the original glass and frame.
