Services
We would be happy to give you a quote in person (Contact Us) or you can email 3 measurements, 3 pictures, and your home address to savagewindowwells@gmail.com, and we will email you an estimate.
If you decide you are interested in having us do your work, we will come and look at your job to finalize your quote before beginning work.
Front View: take a picture of the front of the window well - wide enough to see any close obstacles such as AC units, sewer clean outs, and cement pads.
We also need to see enough above the well to see if there are overhangs or obstacles.
Window well height is very important.
A window well should be mounted high enough that the dirt around it slopes away from the home.
Each city has their own requirements, but the recommendation from the National Home Builders Association is that lots shall be graded to drain surface water away from foundation walls.
The grade shall fall a minimum of 6 inches within the first 10 feet.
Savage Window Wells recommends that you slope the earth away from your window wells as much as possible.
We recommend that the well be mounted 3-4 inches above where the landscaping should be to provide a proper slope.
The Safety Grates and Ladders offered by Savage Window Wells are manufactured by Boman & Kemp.
Grates are offered in a Bar Grate and a Diamond Grate (Expanded Metal) model.
Bar Grates are strong and rigid.
If you stand on your grates from time to time, we recommend going with the Bar Grates, though no grates are recommended for regular foot traffic.
The Diamond Grates are good for keeping debris, leaves, and animals out of window wells but are less rigid.
Both grates are engineered to handle up to 600 pounds.
Do you want to replace your window well yourself?
We can help you with our DIY program.
We give you an "al-a-cart" quote with a variety of services that you can pick from.
For example, you can do most of the work of digging out and removing the old well and then have us come to professionally install the new well.
We guarantee that it will never come away from the foundation.
We also test the finished installation to insure no new rusting will occur.
With our extensive experience in mounting window wells we can also advise you of the risks in your decision of how high to mount the new well.
